inspections

.

.

I am still alive. For quite a while there I was very busy doing things so extraordinarily mind numbingly banal and tedious that i will not speak of them anymore, except to say that they involved cleaning, real estate agents, excel spread sheets and tax. These are a few of my least favourite things, needless to say.

.

The exhibition at Gallery 9 really went extremely well, to my amazement, with most of the work finding good new homes. Some is even going to London.
It was so nice to have my work in such a beautiful space, and to work with such good people. I have lots more photos here, including works-in-progress pictures. And i have added added some to my website, too, and will add more when i get a chance.

.

I am off to Nowa Nowa tomorrow, in East Gippsland, for two weeks, as The Long Now resident artist. I'll be doing an installation in part of an unoccupied house as part of Open For Inspection, in collaboration with the local community (hopefully!), and my sister Rhiannon, too (she is very good with paper and things, and a very good artist). I am really looking forward to actually getting there, rather than just preparing; there has been lots to pack, and organise, and think about. Some more about what i'll be doing here.

.

And here is Open For Inspection the blog

Hey Jade - can't wait to see what you got up to at Nowa Nowa! Glad to hear your Sydney exhibition went so well, you've certainly been keeping busy.

Looking forward to seeing what you created during your residency... speaking of which, I've just found out I've got two weeks at bundanon some time next year with a few other folk so it would be great to chat to you at some stage about your time there ;-)

Take care,

Benj

Hi Claire! Hope i didn't miss your email, had some email complications when i was down there.
Maybe you can make it to the launch weekend? 24th/25th november, should be good i think - lots of art music and petanque on the piste! Hope i see you there, would be lovely to meet you!

Thanks very much Amy! Yes the posts have been a bit few and far between lately, i will try to rectify the situation....
Your drawings are lovely, have just started reading your blogs (got lots of blog reading to catch up on after all those chores and being away)

Very proud to be in your collection Helle! Thankyou. One of these days, when funds permit, i will get myself some beautiful flotsam jewellery....then you shall be in my collection!

Thanks Uschi! Some of them certainly look like they could fly....i'll have to work on that...
When i have to transport them i do wish they were cranes, it would be much more practical.

Thankyou Barbara, lovely stuff on your Rainbow blog!

Hi there Ben, that is fantastic that you are going to Bundanon, i'm sure you will love it. Yes we should have a chat about it.....i can blather for ages about bundanon. Perhaps we shall bump into each other at some random opening sometime...see you soon i hope!

I'm, doing an art and design course at the moment, and hope it is Ok to put a couple of pictures of your work in my sketchbook - the theme is reuse, and I thought of your amazing use of paper.

Hi Jade,

Life has got in the way of me getting to Nowa Nowa... We are moving to the Northern Territory and things have got somewhat crazy!

I hope all goes well with the opening.

I hope you can get back to regular updating of your blog... 'cause I do love it :-)

Cheers
Claire

Of course it is okay Jackie, i am flattered! Best of luck with your course.

Wow Claire, it really has gotten in the way! That is rather exciting for you, hope you love it there, best wishes for the move.

Yes i will be trying hard to be a bit more frequent with the blogging, i am awfully slack. And keeping up with other blogs too. There is never enough time!
